OUR HISTORY

After a long experience in Port-Grimaud and Africa, Antoine and his wife, who are passionate about the sea, decided to open a new restaurant in the charming village of Grimaud. Always on the theme of the sea, the two lovers of cuisine invite you into a warm, jovial and charming setting. The team will welcome you in French or English and propose to you high-quality homestyle cooking.

The restaurant La Fontaine in the village of Grimaud opened its doors in July 2018. The couple tastefully redesigned the whole place which was an old pizzeria and changed it into a chic and refined restaurant. Tables are presented in an elegant, modern and refined style. The lounge is nicely arranged with beautiful paintings on the walls. For your meal, in the winter, you have the choice between a large cosy bench and a more intimate round table. The seats are comfortable with soft and felted colors. On the tables, you will often see pretty freshly cut bouquets of flowers. For a romantic time, a family meal or one between colleagues, you will be delighted to savor an attractive dish of fresh fish or seafood. This is the only restaurant specializing in seafood in the village of Grimaud.

In the summer or on beautiful sunny days in autumn or spring, you will be able to enjoy a pleasant typically Provencal terrace. It is decorated with an original fountain from which the restaurant is named. The terrace is surrounded by a stone wall of character. You will appreciate having lunch or dinner in an idyllic setting that looks over the Gulf of Saint Tropez. The team of La Fontaine offers you an attentive and friendly service. As for the dishes, here are some examples that our chef can propose to you: As a starter, you will be presented with prawns and squid stir-fried with parsley, chef’s terrine or even octopus salad. For the main dishes, you will discover, if you wish, the chef’s speciality which is smoked fish (tuna, swordfish, salmon etc.). You will also find on the ‘à la carte menu’, pan-fried scallops with lemon butter sauce, sole or even sweetbreads in wild mushroom sauce. Seafood lovers will be given a choice of oysters, lobsters, langoustes and prawns…

Every day, the restaurant owner goes in person to the market to choose the seafood and the fish that he will propose to you on the very same day. Passionate about Mediterranean cuisine, he knows how to choose the best products according to availability and the season. Thus, thanks to his own experience and knowledge, he can offer you fish of excellent quality at a reasonable price. He and the chef will then propose to you seasonal cooking according to their inspirations. At La Fontaine, you will find a combination of taste and refinement, always with finesse and delicacy.

At the restaurant La Fontaine, all is wonderful, fresh and tasty. Beautiful plates and good products are offered to you. Whether on the sea or land side, you can accompany your meal with a nice bottle of wine from the region. Here again, the owner Antoine is in charge. He has selected for you the best wines from the Var. He will be able to advise you on how to match them as much as possible to your dishes. The products that the chef uses for cooking are fresh and local. Over many years in catering, the couple have found the ideal recipe: good products, know-how and lots and lots of love.
